Dulcimer Hammers

Description

Made exclusively for Shadrach Productions, these single-sided hammers are just like those I use to play the dulcimer, which are also illustrated in Striking Out and Winning! The handles are flat on top, inviting an ergonomically friendly hold that allows the hammers to swing up and down in the hands without manipulating that action with the thumbs or wrists for a resonant, full-bodied sound. (The hold is also described in Striking Out.) The pair shown in the photo are maple with rosewood handles, but I regularly receive a variety of wonderful wood combinations. Let me know if you plan to apply a soft material (felt, leather, etc.) to the strike surfaces and I will hand-pick a pair that will balance well with this addition.
